Instrumentation agent

Finds what your taxonomy is missing.

Tracking plans drift. New features ship, properties change type, and events arrive that nobody defined. The instrumentation agent watches live traffic against your taxonomy and proposes the definitions you need, for a person to approve.

Illustrative data

What it watches

Coverage, drift, and classification.

Undefined events

Events arriving that no Active definition describes, grouped by app and environment, with volume and sample payloads.

Untyped or changed properties

Properties that arrive with no type, or with a different type than the definition expects.

Classification gaps

New properties that look like personal or health data and have not yet been classified.

Coverage per environment

Events defined and firing in stage that are missing in prod, or the other way round.

Proposals

It drafts. You decide.

Each proposal arrives as a Draft definition: a suggested name, inferred property types, a suggested sensitivity classification, and the payloads it was inferred from.

Classification is always a human decision. The agent flags what looks sensitive, and a person confirms it before the definition can become Active.

  • Proposals enter the same Draft, Active, Deprecated lifecycle
  • Nothing reaches production without approval
  • Every approval is recorded in the audit log

A taxonomy generated from traffic alone is just your current state, typed. One that is proposed and then reviewed is a plan.

Questions

Common questions.

Can the agent activate a definition on its own?

No. It can only create drafts. Activation, and every sensitivity classification, requires a person with the right role.

What data does it read?

Incoming events and validation results in your own workspace. It does not send your data anywhere else.
